Far & Beyond Funerals Announces New Partnership with Charity Victim Support

Far & Beyond Funerals Announces New Partnership with Charity Victim Support

Stockport-based funeral service Far & Beyond Funerals has announced its partnership with independent charity Victim Support to help provide support to victims of murder and manslaughter.

Victim Support, who provide specialist practical and emotional support to victims across England and Wales, will become the funeral provider’s new charity partner of the year.

Far & Beyond will be donating £10 from every funeral service it conducts to Victim Support’s national Homicide Service. The service works with bereaved families to provide emotional support through a dedicated case worker who can also help with practical issues such as police liaison, any administrative tasks as well as support with organising the funeral.

Far & Beyond will also be giving a 15% discount on all funerals to families bereaved by homicide, in an effort to help those struggling financially under the increasing burden of what’s known in the industry as ‘funeral poverty’.

Lewis McMorrow, Senior Managing Director of Far & Beyond Funerals, said: “We’re one of the fastest growing funeral providers in the UK and, as part of our sustained expansion, we’re keen to work with local and national charities to offer any financial help we can to families in need.”

“The loved ones of those who have had their lives cruelly snatched away from them are going through enough without having to face huge funeral bills when they want to lay their family member to rest. Our new partnership with Victim Support is our way of offering help and support to the bereaved at what is obviously a distressing and tumultuous time.”

Tanya Richardson, Fundraising Manager at Victim Support added: “We are delighted to be working with Far & Beyond this year. Last year our Homicide Service helped over 1,400 people bereaved by murder and manslaughter in England and Wales. They do an amazing job of supporting people through the most difficult of times and any financial support in helping them to do this is gratefully received.”

Far & Beyond Funerals are based in Stockport and Stalybridge but offer professional and affordable funeral services to customers throughout England and Wales.
